Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kampala

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Kampala. Depending on the arrival time, you can go visit the Uganda Museum to get an introduction to the country’s history, culture, and traditions. Relax at your hotel or explore Kampala’s vibrant nightlife.

Day 2: Kampala Cultural Highlights

Visit Buganda Kingdom, tour the Kasubi Tombs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the burial grounds of Buganda kings. Visit the Lubiri (Mengo Palace) and the Bulange, the administrative center of the Buganda Kingdom. After lunch, visit the Ndere Troupe Centre to experience traditional dances, music, and folklore from various Ugandan tribes. Enjoy a dinner featuring traditional Ugandan cuisine.

Day 3: Visit Ewaffe cultural Village.

Day 4: Historical Sites in Fort Portal

Drive to Fort Portal, a town known for its stunning scenery and rich cultural history.Tour the Tooro Kingdom Palace and learn about the Tooro royal family and their traditions. Visit the Amabere Caves and crater lakes, where local legends and myths add a mystical touch to natural beauty. visit Mahoma Falls. Meet the local people as you walk through their villages, learn about the customs of the Batoro tribe and enjoy the panoramic views. You can also visit the Rubingo Abeteraine Women’s Group and see how they earn their money by weaving baskets. Stay overnight in Fort Portal, enjoying the cool mountain air.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Batwa Experience

Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its biodiversity. Visit the Batwa community for an immersive cultural experience. Participate in the Batwa Cultural Trail to learn about their traditional way of life, including hunting and gathering techniques, medicinal plants, and storytelling. Enjoy a traditional Batwa dance performance around a campfire.

Day 6:Bwindi Cultural and Natural Wonders

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the headquarters for briefing and the go for gorilla tracking. It is normaly between 4 to 6 hours. Return to the lodge for lunch and later in the afternoon, take a guided nature walk in Bwindi to learn about the forest’s flora and fauna from a

Batwa perspective. Your Batwa guide will share knowledge about the forest and how they have traditionally utilized its resources. Relax at your lodge and reflect on the day’s cultural experiences.

Day 7:Depart Bwindi for Nshenyi Village

Departure for Mbarara where you will have lunch, after lunch continue to Nshenyi Village. The route will take you to this rural farm, where you can learn about the Ankole people’s way of life. When you visit the Nshenyi Cultural Village you will go on nature walks, visit various homesteads, be entertained by traditional dancers at the cultural village or at one of the homes in the community and experience the pastoralist lifestyle. You will also visit some of the local schools as well as walk through the local markets.

Day 8:Nshenyi Village

Early in the morning after milking the long horned Ankole cows, you shall return to the farm for breakfast. Later we shall take a short walk to the village of Bahima. Here you will learn more about their way of life. The trail leads through undulating hills that overlook Nshenyi Village. In the evening you can enjoy traditional dancing and singing by a local group.

Day 9:Nshenyi to Igongo cultural museum

After breakfast we depart from Nshenyi and head to the Igongo Cultural Museum for a glimpse into the culture and history of the Ankole people. Explore the Nkwanzi Crafts Shop, the Eclipse Monument, the Cultural Village (Itaramiro), and the Mpororo Courts. Return to Kampala and

check into your hotel.

Day 10:Departure

Spend your last morning in Kampala at leisure, perhaps doing some final shopping or visiting a local market. Transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
